The shooting occurred at 3:45 a.m. Sunday near a Clearance Outlet store in Grand Rapids.
Police were initially alerted to a large party — and learned of the shooting on their way to the scene, according to a release by the Grand Rapids Police Department.

A man in his 20s died, and eight others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, police said.
